I'm currently reading The Art of Intrusion: The Real Stories Behind the Exploits of Hackers, Intruders & Deceivers by Kevin Mitnick & William L. Simon. (Wiley Press) This book is all about computer security, and stories of how easily major organizations have their security compromised. If you've ever bought something online, used a bank, or even used a computer- this book is a fascinating read.
If you dont know who Kevin Mitnick is, you should Google it. In short- he was a computer hacker who became the poster boy for the United States laws against computer crimes. In short, he was held in jail without bond for 5 years without being formally charged, or given his right to a speedy trial. His story- as well as this book, are interesting subject matter for people involved in the world of computers, and even the end user. |
